Teaching English South Korea - Accommodation
The ESL teachers in South Korea are provided with good quality accommodation by the schools. The accommodations given by the schools in the cities of South Korea are better than those in the rural areas. The city accommodations are mainly in the high rises and are mostly equipped with all modern western amenities and equipment. The single teachers are usually given one room apartments as accommodations. The accommodations provided to the teachers are mostly in close proximity to the schools so that the teachers would be able to avoid the cost of conveyance. Accommodation is usually provided to the teachers from the day of they land in the schools and begin their cultural orientation.
The teachers are given compensation for accommodation in case the schools are unable to provide it. The accommodation allowances are about USD 300.
The rent of the apartment of the teachers is provided by the schools but they have to pay electricity, water, gas and phone bills. The accommodation has amenities like bed, sofa, wardrobe, vacuum cleaner, television, telephone, gas oven and microwave.
